GENTLEMAN
First Gentleman Shaun Evans was born in Harrisburg, PA. He is the only child of Wenfra and Edith Evans, two career educators who retired from the District of Columbia Public School System.
Raised in Fort Washington, MD, Shaun was baptized as a young man at Fort Foote Baptist Church. He was a member of the Audiovisual Ministry and later accompanied his mother and Pastor Evans on the church’s missions trip to Kingston, Jamaica.
Mr. Evans’ Aunt introduced him to our Pastor at Pilgrim Baptist Church in Silver Spring, MD. They were married in 2002, and Shaun was ordained a Deacon a few years later. Shaun served in Pilgrim’s Audiovisual Ministry and continued in that service at Morning Star Baptist Church after he and Pastor Evans moved to Baltimore.
1st G completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in Telecommunications at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in 1993. He worked as a videographer before becoming a messenger in the Marshal’s Office of the U.S. Supreme Court. In 1996, Mr. Evans joined the Marshal’s Office Police Force. He has been an officer at the Supreme Court for more than twenty years.
